Incident Angle investigates the relationship between light, materiality and spatial perception. Constructed through intersecting planes of translucent acrylic and an integrated LED light source, the work explores how light encounters physical surfaces, transforming their apparent boundaries and extending their presence into the surrounding architecture.

The geometric structure establishes a precise relationship between planes, angles and surfaces. Yet, as light travels through the acrylic, it generates reflections, chromatic variations and projections that challenge the stability of the object itself. What initially appears as a controlled composition becomes an unstable perceptual experience, in which the distinction between material and immaterial is continuously negotiated.

Light is not employed merely to illuminate the structure. It becomes an active material in its construction, revealing and dissolving the limits of the physical form. The surrounding wall is no longer a neutral background but an extension of the work, receiving the colour and intensity that emerge from the object.

As the viewer changes position, the relationships between transparency, reflection and depth are reconfigured. No single perspective offers a complete understanding of the piece; perception unfolds through movement, distance and the continuous interaction between body and space.

Incident Angle proposes an understanding of space not as a fixed architectural condition, but as something continuously constructed through the act of seeing. The work exists beyond its physical dimensions, occupying the interval between what is materially present and what becomes perceptible.
