Light Box I investigates the relationship between light, materiality and spatial perception. Constructed from white and frosted acrylic, the work incorporates LED lighting within a geometric structure, allowing light to emerge from the object itself rather than being projected onto it.

Through the interaction of translucent surfaces, overlapping planes and fluorescent colour, the work creates an ambiguous spatial condition in which depth, boundaries and orientation become difficult to define. Light is no longer a means of illuminating form, but an active element in its construction, transforming the material into a field of perceptual possibilities.

The work invites the viewer to reconsider the relationship between what is physically present and what is visually perceived. As the body moves, subtle changes in colour, transparency and intensity alter the experience of the object, revealing the instability of a seemingly fixed structure.

Rather than seeking immediate visual impact, Light Box I proposes a moment of perceptual suspension. In a contemporary environment saturated with visual stimuli, the work creates an opportunity to slow down, observe and become conscious of the act of seeing itself.
